Run of the mill? It's by far the best haunted house I've ever been to! It usually makes a lot of national top 10 lists. EAP is also a great place to visit the rest of the year as well. It's just two different experiences. The fact that I've been to the haunted house a few times in no way diminishes how amazing I think the place in the off season or how struck I am by it's awesomeness every single time I walk or drive by it (a frequent occurrence since I live really close to it).

Do you get any chills from the place? Like any indication there is a spirit present?

I'm not too sure. Had an experience one time in the lounge room where I saw a woman with long hair running for a moment until she jumped and vanished. Weird thing was one of the land owners behind our house told me of a similar experience seeing a woman ghost inside the house. Same with the other resident there... It's a very old house though. Probably a coincidence and just hallucinated for a second or something.

A spirit present? I don't really know what that means to be honest. It's a 200 year old prison that was the original penitentiary. It's fascinating and just drips with history. It's very ominous and creepy as hell in places but I'm not one to attribute those feelings to anything supernatural.

Here are some images that give a little sense of what it's like:

It's pretty coincidental that you all had the same experience. It may have been a joint hallucination but there may just be something spiritual going on there.

This is just an example of the common signs that people have felt in regards to haunted houses:

Feelings of being touched - the feeling of being watched is one thing, and actually feeling like you are being touched is quite another. Some people feel something brush past them, something touching their hair or "a hand" on the shoulder. Some feel a gentle poke, push or nudge.
Cries and whispers - on occasion, muffled voices, whispering and crying can be heard. Sometimes it's music from some unknown source. People hear their names being said. This phenomenon, as is true for the one above, gains more credibility if more than one person hears or sees the same thing at the same time.
Cold or hot spots - cold spots are classic haunting symptoms, but any instance of a noticeable variance in temperature without a discernable cause could be evidence.

Sauce

Cool photos though, I'd love to be in one.

The look of that place gave me an adventureboner.

I also keep in mind that as humans, we're psychologically inclined to see faces in everything, and that's why we wind up with Jesus Toast, this guy, and interpreting visual glimpses of whatnot as the figures and faces of people.

The lack of a rational explanation is not evidence for anything but a lack of a rational explanation.

I know, but I would think it would be far more freaky and effective if they just left you alone with a flashlight. Then they could maybe turn it off remotely or something for good effect. That'd be fuggin terrifying. Just you ambling along in the dark.

That would be freaky. A friend of mine used to know someone who worked there and one time got to walk around in there at night when it was closed. He said it was super creepy.

They do offer flashlight tours though, which is kind of the next best thing.

Oh I'd be all over that. I actually did get to go there, but it was during winter. For some reason I thought it'd be heated. No. I'd like to go back in the summer or something.
