We are all connected

If you haven't seen this video, you have to watch it. It has several scientists quotes that were made into a song, and it really explains how the universe is really connected. I get the basic idea of what they are saying, but my lack of scientific background keeps me from truly understanding it. One of the really interesting quotes that i got from this was "the beauty of a living thing is not the atoms that are put into it, but the way those atoms are put together". If i had any good knowledge of science i would understand this, but i don't. Anyways, it is a really awesome video that will make you think, and if you feel like commenting then that would be great. I could use some insight.

Have you seen What the Bleep Do We Know?

i saw it a while back, but i forgot most of it. Of course i've seen like a thousand of these videos so it shouldn't be surprising.

yea i did.. we are all made up of the same stuff= connected... Basically like the ball never touching the ground.. I thought the idea that our brains make things appear as we expect them to be was cool .. as though we have mind over matter, also this ties into the double slit experiment. Cool stuff.

Yeah, i don't get how are brains can figure out something so complex.

I've read this thread a few times and I still can't come to a conclusion what it's speaking about. What do you mean by the universe is connected? It doesn't ring any bells for me.

Every living thing is connected to the Universe atomically. We are made of the same stuff that is in stars, just in a much more organized and special way. These structures are so complex that we should be fortunate the Universe permits evolution of molecular machines such as ourselves.

You ever wonder what you are seeing? Or how you are seeing it?

We perceive our vision through waves of light floating about in space, but because of the complex nature and structure of the brain, our brains are able to figure it out correctly. So everything we are seeing is really there. When Carl Sagan said "We are a way for the cosmos to know itself", that is what he means. We are actually conscious FOR the universe!

It's kind of hard to get it to sink in, but once it does it's one of the most amazing things ever. And it really will put into perspective how spectacular the universe really is.

The universe would not exist if it did not exist in the way it does. We don't have to be fortunate of anything. That is just the way everything is.
