I prefer when people pronounce it "mozlims". Very strange.

Hence why I called it minute, while still legitimate.

I thought the darkies were the cradle of civilization.

That is why I said 'at least that was how it was presented in the history books.' Because I knew someone would bring up another possible origin, e.g. China or India etc.

mesopotamia (modern day Iraq) is considered to be the cradle of civilization

Quote:
Mesopotamia is generally credited with being the first place where civilized societies truly began to take shape. People around the world had been developing the groundwork for civilization for millennia: Agriculture was established around 8000 B.C. The domestication of animals for labor and food develop*ed simultaneously [source: Ohio State University]. People had been creating art for thousands of years already. Early laws had been established in the form of mores and folkways. All of these were parts of human culture, but not civilization. Mesopotamians refined, added to and formalized these systems, combining them to form a civilization.

^Caused quite a fuss around these parts when he first spoke out. As a (hopeful) future U of T student, I've followed the drama closely.

it was a pretty hot topic on the east coast as well, guessing it swept over Canada pretty quickly. I really like the guy, even if we disagree on a fair bit he's still very intelligent and well spoken. his podcast with Joe Rogan was class.

I'm an optimistic agnostic who believes religion serves a necessary role in cultural development. Reality is a black box of sorts...we don't have enough information to seriously entertain most of life's big questions. That would change with the completion of a god-tier AI though.

I think that my current beliefs best fit into the Panentheistic Taoism realm.
