I have an alternative belief that I consider more likely because I do actually believe in spirits and supernatural phenomena to an extent, and that is that there is no rule of god or heaven or hell system (at least in the way most religions define it) and there may or may not be reincarnation but there is an afterlife, and leaving this world just means departing for some mirror reality where all spirits reside, but sometimes they can cross the border to our reality but not the other way around. It's possible that reincarnation happens, maybe (hopefully) by choice and is a way to balance things, as in the material world is on one side of the hourglass and the spiritual or whatever it is is on the other but unlike a normal hourglass we trade spiritual energy orwhatwhateverthef*cksylviabrownecallsit back and forth and it's a way of keeping one side from being too crowded. Or maybe spirits on the other side (which may be like an alternate reality that is just as "physical" as the here and now) can actually die and then come back here reincarnated or whatever so life and death is just going around in circles between alternate worlds or realities. If this sounds like a bunch of pretentious supernatural sh*t I can't blame you, I cringe when anyone goes on about this stuff but as an agnostic I find this to be how it is likely to be if there is an afterlife at all, and it's a way to explain both spirits and reincarnation. And it's certainly something I think would be cooler than anything else that's ever been preposed on the issue. Last edited by boo boo; 07-18-2010 at 03:26 PM. |

atheist/agnostic. the way i look at it, either god doesnt exist or he hates my ****in guts. but i'll respect other peoples religious opinions, so long as they respect mine and dont try to shove the bible down my throat.

Somewhere between an atheist & agnostic (if there's such a thing). Of course, if someone asks whether I'm religious, usually, my answer is that 'I have no ****ing idea'.
I do occasionally read up on the bible/koran/Talmud/Rig Veda/other sacred texts, so that when I do crack a joke, atleast I know what I'm talking about. Basically, some sort of a smartarse .

Im straight up baptist. Im a sinner saved by the grace of my lord n savior jesus christ. I will stand up for my lord. I dont look down on anyone cause they believe diff this country was founded on freedom of religion. I see there is an outstandin num of athiest people. From other who dont beileve as me all I ask is please dont say gd. I will respect you as long you respect me. Im not perfect i sware/cuss all time im not married n i live in sin with my bf n i drink from time to time so i dont claim to be a christian cause i dnt live christ like but soon we get married n im tryin to stop cussin then i can reclaim myself as a christian. I dont go to church cause to many hypocrits claim be christian n act all perfect but in their personal lifes outside of sunday they live like the devil. I have my bible n i pray so when i need i a bust from like i look to a sermon at church but no one is perfect n only god will judge everyone it not my place or anyone else to judge. Respect!!!

I was raised on The Magic School Bus and Dicovery/NatGeo documentaries so I've always thought of god as a non-existent thing, so I turned to science for my beliefs *pokes bill nye avatar*. I'll go with atheist.
