Catholic aren't unified on abortion... the church isn't, at least.

They've actually adopted two beliefs on abortion, each on either side of the spectrum. I'm going by what I learned in class, and I didn't take notes, so I'm not exactly sure which one is which... but they adopted on belief first, and then the other- without ever taking back the first belief.

I know the belief AGAINST abortion was taken from the bible. The other- if I'm not mistaken- was taken from someone who researched on the church's behalf. I'll ask my teacher again, I need to brush up on these facts.

Conservative and Liberal describe Political Ideologies, those terms are borrowed from social studies. Because Catholicism isn't an Ideology, trying to describe as either Liberal or Conservative isn't accurate. The Catholic Church neither supports nor identifies with either Political Ideologies, (or politcal parties.) Catholics themselves might be half conservative and fairly liberal, but depending on the issue they may or may not follow the Catholic Church's official teaching on the matter.

If you don't agree with the beliefs than I am not trying to force you to. I have no interest in debating anything with anybody, I just wanted to clear up a misconception.
To be fair, what you said was incredibly vague, it IS the Bible after all.

Of course it's not. Believing in God can give you a hypothesis to explain the existence of you and the universe. It might tell you what happens after you die. There's much more than that as well and I don't think the same can be said for a belief in pixies.

In other words, don't troll the thread please.

Well, you can't know for sure that God is a mere pigment of people's imagination. You can't know for sure if pixies are pigments of people's imaginations either.

Was raised a Catholic but always felt very alienated from Irish Catholic society, pretty much stopped bothering come adolescence.Dunno if I believe in God,but I have a lot of time for the teachings of Christ.

what text book did you swipe that from?

If you're speaking in political terms, its wildly accurate to use political jargon to describe things...even the catholic church.
