Nobody is trying to take away rights. We're just saying you're an idiot for having said beliefs.
We pick on those too.
Pascal was wrong. Get over it.
I wouldn't say I don't care. The existence of a god or gods would have lots of interesting scientific implications, and simply believing in them has social and potentially political impact.
I'm not calling anyone an idiot for having these beliefs, I'm just saying they disturb me.

And I do know for a fact that not all Christians think of heaven as the way I described, and I wouldn't say it's because they haven't read the bible, they just interpret it differently I guess.

You gotta wonder how accurate a religion is when multiple portions of its believers have opposing beliefs.

If Christians are free to believe their own interpretations of their religion are true, and others false, then the same validity is extended to even other religions and the sects therein. The whole religious community, regardless of denomination, believes they are the truth... Believing your faith is the true faith and believing that all others are not, well... that lends the same credibility to every religion that believes in their own.

But the single most consistent factor, the common denominator between all these different beliefs, is that they all have the same amount of faith in their religion.
If you cancel theirs out, you cancel out your own.
Where your god may have shown you his evidence, theirs obviously has done the same thing. When you really look at it, it's just a matter of people. People and a belief. The belief itself is the truth, no matter what that belief entitles.

To say your truth is more valid than someone else's, when it's based on faith, is self-damning and ignorant, and it speaks volumes about how shaky the foundation of religion really is.

If one believe 2+2=4,
one is not self-damning and ignorant because someone else believes 2+2=5.

If there are two statements that a claimed to be true but contradict each other, one has to be false.

This is retarded, no really it is.

If there's so many religions that claim to know the truth, then there's no reason to believe any single one of them actually does.

What proof is there that Christians are right and Muslims are not? None, and vice versa. It's all about faith, and in that sense Dali is right, if you believe in Jesus simply through blind faith, then you have no right to criticize other religions for taking the same leap of faith, and when Christians actually try to debunk another religion using "facts" it just makes them look retarded.

Every religion has some incircumstancial evidence that obviously convinces some people that it's the truth. And just because two things contradict each other dosen't automatically mean one side is right and one is wrong, both could easly be right or both could easly be wrong.

In other words, the world isn't black and white.

Some people are atheists because some people find none of the alternatives convincing. Not because there is necessarily one right way. In the case that reality is really determined by what you believe (which is an odd thought) I'd still choose to be an atheist because the very idea of a watcher is depressing and if said being doesn't watch what I do than why do I care? He'd have nothing to judge me by.

I don't actually call myself an atheist, I prefer to call myself agnostic. However I can't exactly say agnosticism is a truth, since it more or less means I don't care what the truth is.

I believe that in 5 minutes a dozen bald chicks will storm into my room and have sex with me.

I'll let you know if that happens.
