I think what Anteater brings up is interesting. Free will indicates a personality which is undoubtedly something angels seem to possess. Arguably, the presence of free will combined with the destruction of one's ego may seem a little contradictory. Are the rules for angels and people in heaven supposed to differ in that respect? Do you get a new personality or is the old just cleansed in a way?

Well Revelations talks about god destroying the old heaven and earth and starting over, I guess that means he's gonna be more strict next time around. Because we all know the biblical god of the old testament isn't strict enough.

Also, a lot of Christians don't believe people can go to heaven or hell until after the second coming, until then they're just dead. So the current heaven is reserved for god and the angels I guess.

My opinion is, as long as there is an afterlife, I dont care where I go because the thought of living forever in some conscious state regardless of where i am is better than no consciousness at all....but thats if there is an afterlife which I find highly unlikely.

So you'd rather spend eternity in hell and experience unimaginable suffering than simply not exist? You're weird.

Oblivion always seemed kind of comforting to me.

Me too .. I mean, before I was born, my nonexistance wasn't really a problem. Even after billions of years of not being, I wasn't bored or anything. I don't mind so much going back to that compared to some rewarding or punishing afterlife.

the rules of angels and people would differ since angels would live outside of our conceivable dimension. there'd be no sin, etc. so there'd be different method of perception and implementation when it comes to free will.

honestly i was gonna write up an essay, but it's such a convoluted and paradoxical thing that i can't really be bothered.

exactly, I feel unimaginable suffering in the world already in a human state. I figure living forever is fine. I kind of like the idea of hanging out with lucifer and satan like in paradise lost. I dont know, if a sense of consciousness lasts forever, than that means there is no evil because the only reason evil exists is because it ends life and destroys humanity. But if there is no sense of humanity, i.e. life and death, then there is no sense of evil. This is why i renounce christianity. If Im wrong, I win because I really don't care about myself suffering. I care more about not having any consciousness. If hell means not having any consciousness and heaven means having one, than someone really needs to rewrite the rules.

I feel the same way too, when I die I want everything to be over for me. Existing for an eternity seems terribly exhausting and I truly believe that we would go insane.
