We all gonna die
So yeah, I've had a long tideous discussion with Pete about this, putting any religious stuff asside, how long do you think the human race will survive, or can survive?
Not taking into account the outside influences like black holes, asteroids and klingon invasions, while a constant threat, they have always been a threat since our planet's existance and I have no reason to believe they're gonna effect us anytime soon. My only real concerns are the things already going on with our planet. Climate change, shifting of the magnetic poles, solar storms, superviruses, nucclear warfare, dying resources, blah blah blah. Do you think we'll still be here in a million years? Or at the very least a thousand? |

I'm mostly concerned at the moment with our lack of respect and communication with each other. Our disconnection with one another and everything around us has led to our current status as a heavily polluted and populated planet. It might seem like I'm diving a little to deep with this response, but take a look around you. Most of us are far from truly being in touch with ourselves. I feel like we are the most terrible creatures to have inhabited this planet. Sure, the benefits of being as complexly structured as we and as our society are plentiful, but where is the balance here? Why can't we manage to get together and give as much as we've received from Earth? We will die because we think we hold superiority over any other living thing on this planet, because we think we own this planet.
Dramatic enough for you? |

You know, there was an ancient civilization in South America who believed the world was gonna end in the year 2012. I think they were right.

The only truly traumatic thing involving 2012 that is going to happen to us is the Roland Emmerich movie.

A know there's a lot of people who say it's too late and not worth trying, I consider them a big part of the problem. |

My hypothetical doomsday usually involves me around a bunch of nubile young women who are ready to make earthy love for the last time....that's if we faced immediate destruction...say in the case of an asteroid.
.....I think in reality it will be a lot ****tier...all the resources will dry up, and we'll be forced into roving bands etc. I don't think it will happen in my lifetime but maybe my great-great grandkids lifetime, and since I won't have any emotional bond with me I can't say I really give a ****. |
