You don't seem to have much of a grip on what the spec ops does which is understandable.
Not to mention I never said one was more honorable than the other, just which one requires more cohesion between the units. But just wow if you believe spec ops is tip toeing around.

That's bullshit. Reversing a policy doesn't take that much time (and he did it regularly with Bush policies) and dealing with this Choi situation would only take a few minutes for him to make a statement - a few minutes he instead took to say he wouldn't intervene. There's no excuse for his hypocrisy.

Also don't really understand the Bush parallel in the first post. This policy was started under Clinton...unless you were relaying the getting away with murder to another event?

Ok, on second thought, it really would be nice to hear how and why those SEALs feel that the presence of homosexuals in the unit breaks its cohesion and inhibits them from doing their job.

That was me criticizing the President for talking about accountability/transparency and then hiding torture memos, pictures and other things. I see no way for a country to get past that issue without an actual discussion of it; a discussion which he doesn't seem to want to have which is contrary to the ideals he ran on.

Do they need to get out? I'd say yes, but I'm not sure I'd say now is the right time. That of course raises the question of when the right time is, and that's a difficult question. And adidasss I'll try to get those answers next time I see any of them.

Um no I don't see the harm. Everyone's fully aware there was some level of punishment in there and that it's an old incident. I don't see how any rational person could all the sudden start criticizing the military upon the release of these pictures.
I think now is the perfect time. Were involved in two wars and we need to decide how were going to operate as a country. I don't see how we can go beyond with the issue without any sort of national discussion on it or how we can put it on hold any longer. |

Personally, yeah, their's gonna be a backlash. Sleepy, Taliban doesn't "start criticizing the military." They gain support and will shoot all of their *** ass ancient weaponry at American bases. But they absolutely need to come out, now. We need to get our hands dirty in order to restore our image. I am personally willing to get shot at a little more in order for those pictures to be released. We voted for change, the government should act based on the desicions of the people, not work to "protect them from themselves."
