Just about any Crichton book I ever read I enjoyed immensely for the first half, and then when all the science was explained it stopped being at all interesting. Except for Eaters of the Dead; and that was because A.) it was really short, and B.) the sciency stuff never got explained to the actual characters in the book, so the narrative itself always felt like fantasy. It was actually one of the most unique fantasy novels I've ever read.

How about Sphere. I read that one in a day. Too bad the movie SUCKED BIG BALLS.

^Highly agree with Exo. Edumacate yourself JWB.
They didn't have feathers though so I'd say they were pretty unrealistic.

They'd probably have feathers to take the edge off.

It's my favorite movie of all time. I love the little subtle details of that film. I've seen it over 200 times.
During the first attack on the beach, how Brody races up, but won't actually go into the water because he's afraid. How Quint asks Hooper to tie a specific knot, which he does, and when he gets it thrown back at him, he doesn't even look at it. Hooper brings wine to the Brody's house as a polite gesture and then just asks if he can gobble down their unfinished dinner plates. I love it. |
