Good deal, By the way where is everyone from?

Yukon, could you try not being a cynical ******* for 2 seconds?

I mean, I understand where it comes from, I have a rather negative view on the big picture of life, the difference is I'm not taking a huge crap over anybody else that has a little bit of optimisim. I think the idea is nice just because its a nice way to give a little bit of confirmation that the world isn't completely filled with a bunch of cynical *******s like you.

Eh I took part in it and I don't really understand how you can get so upset one way or the other about it seeing as it's a symbolic thing designed to make people think and hopefully started turning off their lights regularly. There's nothing wrong with conserving power.

He isn't a "cynical *******." Those two words seem to imply (at least to me, not to oxford) a certain sense of dark skepticism rooted in intelligence. There's a difference between that and someone who blindly wants to go against any and all masses and popular opinion (and just plain history) because he thinks it makes him look intelligent.

Also George Carlin is just a comedian Yukon. That little bit is amusing but the stuff that's right is obvious (e.g. the earth will probably survive global warming but we won't) and the stuff that's stupid is just stupid. Why don't you believe in global warming?

Me and the GF are inviting people over for food and getting drunk and when earth hour starts, we'll turn off the lights, replace the stereo with acoustic guitars, flutes and accordians and light some candles.

Global warming is natural not something that we created... The sun goes through cycles to.

All of your insturments were made using more than just an hour of light bulb usage.

And from the top post it looks like your going to have the fidge on which cunsumes a hell of alot more energy than your lights...

How about when i start my earth day i just go to bed rather than having a bunch of drunk ppl pissing in my toilet using gallons of water and opening and closing my refrigerator to only use more energy. Seems like to me that your going to consume more energy than you would if you left the lights on.

So... Yes enjoy that...

As I wrote and will write for the fourth time now, it's about showing that it is possible to do a collective effort on a grand scale.

Like you, I don't have great belief in the impact of earth hour on the environment, something I've made clear a long time ago .. It's not what it's about. Just understand that this time, please?

That's like going to the store for nothing... Just about pointless can u understand this time??

If we all turn our lights off when its dark then we have done something wonderful..

On a grander scale if everyone did what you were doing tonight i bet it would consume more energy than their light bulbs... not that hard to figure out.. so basically your attempts to do something positive are taken away by your inability to do it yourself... basically my earth day will be more productive than yours and i dont even have to try?? Do you understand what i am saying??

So you should not be mad at me since i contributed...

Except your earth day won't reach out and convey a message to millions and thus becomes rather pointless.

It's the message. Message.

M -E - S - S - A - G - E.

Tell me Yukon, how did it happen to you? If you tell us, maybe we can try and keep it from happening to others.

I'll probably turn all the lights off for like 8 hours when I'm sleeping and stuff and maybe again around noon when it's light outside.
