You can use biofuels or solar power or wind power, we could find a way. If we can run our cars off of this stuff, we can surely run our machinery off of it.

It's probably because we don't wanna put up the money it takes for this, even though it would more than likely pay for itself over time.

Not enough biofuel, wind or sunlight? These are all renewable sources.

Geez, I'm surprised you're even able to post on a forum.

Maybe its a conspiracy, since the invention of hydrogen powered cars we have yet to make them more available and doubt they will since its so easy to suck us dry... BTW Hydrogen the most abundant thing on earth, costs the same per gallon as regular gas... HMMM makes you wonder about conspiracy's doesn't it.

Hydrogen is abundant, but using it costs. It takes millions to make a bus run on hydrogen. It's worth it though because it's abundant and it's absolutely clean.

I appreciate that you're interested in American energy policy but all the same you're vastly overgeneralizing a multi-faceted problem.

and less attacking the straw man please.

Not in its elemental form. Electrolysis requires an insane amount of energy to pull hydrogen out of water (although extracting from methane is easier, it also produces greenhouse gases). The only real advantage that fuel cells pose is that their thermal efficiency is dramatically higher than that of a combustible engine. And as for that "absolutely clean" nonsense... What do you think the power plants (which are directly responsible for production of hydrogen) produce?

In other words hydrogen's impact on the environment is just as significant as using fossil fuels...it just comes from different sources.

Not if you use the sun... research before you answer... Basically the way i see it is they will tax anything that everyone needs.. Or charge you out the azz for it..
