it's cool... go have fun at the beach. I really don't ever need to know... do what you feel is right as a parent to your child.

Who decides what's child abuse and what's physical discipline? I'm going to repost what I said earlier since all the proponents of spanking children seem to be ignoring the psychological aspects of this argument and are just saying "well I turned out okay!"

Maddox's opinion on the matter:
"Remember: never take **** from your kids. You make payments on the house, utilities, their clothes, school, and their food. You own them. If they don't like it, they can move out. If you love your kids, love them enough to beat them so that they don't grow up to be idiots." |

There's a difference between a natural sense of rebelling against your parents and whining that you didn't get your favorite toy. One is nature, one is nurture and the nurture problem can be remedied by not spoiling them at an early age or letting them think they can get whatever they want.

Not really. All I did was throw in some psychology terms and get more specific on the issue of certain issues that some would consider disobedient. It's normal for a child to hide things from his parents and to grow apart from them (particularly during teenager years) but the extent and harmfulness of those things is determined more so but how they were raised then anything else.
