I do and voted acceptable, but only if its in the moment so they know why it happened.. For the record your kids dont believe that its acceptable to hit because you pop them on the butt when they are bad.. They learn that pain is something that happens when you do the wrong thing. As you get older, its replaced by far worse things then getting spanked on the butt...

You on the other hand it sounds like abuse your talking about. A spank on the butt is not child abuse at all.

Ps I let the wife spank the little girl.. Only if she is being super bad.. Its not like we tourture them or anything or abuse them in any way.

Also when your kids talk back to you what do you do?? Saying that spanking them will make them violent is retarded that means that what ever you choose to do it will teach them that... Perhaps your child will learn to stare at a wall when she gets in to deep.

My kids love me to death and tell me there problems, I don't spank them for telling the truth no matter the reason, I will if they lie.. All kids try to lie and if you catch them doing it (not that hard to figure out) thats when you let them know why there getting spanked. My kids also know that I take no pleasure in doing this.

I know this is acceptable and I have no problem with it.

What is the best way.. You tell me. Sounds like your daughter is about 6 months or so falling asleep in your arms or shes way to sheltered. Of course this is also an opinion.

I don't think that those of whom voted 'acceptable' are for BEATING children. I think it's moreorless spanking, or even something lighter like a slap on the hand. I don't have children, so I probably don't have much room to discuss this topic. However, I was a result of strict physical discipline and though I depised it at the time, I feel like it was crucial to get some things across to me. Not to say that those kids who were never physically disciplined are brats, but I don't think you should straight up call someone who chooses to punish their children with spankings a bad parent. My parents spanked me and at times, did much, much worse, but they are great parents, and I can say I'm glad they did it. I've faced that I can be hard-headed, stubborn, and ill-tempered, and if I had to deal with a little **** like myself as a parent, I'd probably spank me, too.

Edit: Also, the Vietnamese culture had devised a new way of physical disciplinary action back in the day. I don't know how long ago, but my parents used it on me, and it worked very well. It's a combo of time-out and kneeling. Yes, it sounds strange, but it ****ing hurt without my parents laying a hand on me. What they would actually do was make children get on both knees with their backs straight and ass off the ground, cross their arms, and face the wall for hours. My parents used this one quite often and it worked, but in Vietnam, they used to make children kneel on durian rinds. Now that's ****ed.
