This is how the Middle East is and how they treat women. It's nothing particularly unique or shocking; we're allies with Saudi Arabia.

This is what happens when people follow religion.

That's pretty unfair. Sure, religion is responsible for more bloodshed than any other institution ever, but that's just scratching the surface of things. Ultimately humans are naturally competitive which all but inevitably leads to violence at some point. If it wasn't religion it would be something else is the point I'm trying to make.

I think you're missing the point...People will always find an excuse to be cruel and to discriminate, religion isn't the problem.

Um, no. Religion is the problem in the Middle East. The Qu'ran, which is what dictates these people, encourages the abuse of women. It's really that simple.

True, but you're also missing my point. I'm not saying religion didn't cause this particular event, just that with or without religion people will always do bad things. Religion's just an excuse.
