President Obama's Address

Transcript: President Barack Obama's Special Address To Congress | AHN | February 25, 2009 There is a transcript, I can't find videos as all the news network streamed it and then stopped.

I'm slightly skeptical, but still optimistic. The entire address basically laid out the blueprint for his entire Presidency and explained the stimulus package in simplistic terms. I am particularly pleased at his promise of reform, regulation and responsibility. On a smaller scope, I'm very happy about the tax cuts and options for students. I'm surprised to hear something this inspiring coming out of Washington after the past eight years; everything from torture policy to government transparency is just different. Let's all take hits from the hope bong now!

Obama needs to stop scheduling speeches during prime TV hours. I had to miss Scrubs ffs.

scrubs is terrible.

I liked the speech. I also loved how he slammed through his perception like "I was given a stimulous bill free of ear marks" and people were herumpfing but he ended up tlaking over them.

As far as how the people reacted during certain parts I was surprised (pleasantly) that the entire joint session applauded his promise of health care reform. I expected the Republicans to remain oddly quiet about anything that could lead to a more universal system.

I took him slightly seriously until he started talking about Wall Street executives having imperialistic desires.

Just curious Wayfarer, would you support a flat tax?

ProggyMan 02-28-2009 10:13 PM

But if the other option was the current system of taxes?
