Slavery just comes as a respectful acknowledgement to what blacks had to go through.

You are missing what Mr. Freeman is saying. He is trying to say there shouldn't be a special month set aside for acknowledgment. The acknowledgment should be consistent throughout the year just like you are learning regular American history.

Didn't actually watch the clip, was just continuing with the discussion. Besides, to criticize the concept of relegating things to times/particular celebrations is kind of like criticizing all holidays and special events to ever be created. To me, it's one of the better reasons to make a special day/month. I mean, beats the hell out of Easter, which is basically a zombie story.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

comparing holidays to a full month of history/heritage isn't the same. The history should just be part of American history. I don't think there should be special focus placed on one particular group. America is about the sum of all the parts so why shouldn't black history be included? No they have to be pushed aside and given a month.
