Black History Month... (house, single, cover, shows, quote)

You are missing what Mr. Freeman is saying. He is trying to say there shouldn't be a special month set aside for acknowledgment. The acknowledgment should be consistent throughout the year just like you are learning regular American history.

March - Hispanic History Month
April - Native American History Month
May - Indian History Month
June - Chinese History Month
July - Japanese History Month
August - Korean History Month
September - Other Asian Cultures History Month
October - Middle Eastern History Month
November - African History Month
December - Australian History Month

The problem is that we're going to get stuff like "why does my history month come up after the Native American History month!!" or "why does my history month come up during the coldest part of the year!!!" and "Why do the Aussies get Deceber!! I want December!!"

I agree that it may just be best to get rid of history months all together. No special events like that.

It's not like it's black people get free ice cream month. All it means is that there's some cheesy stuff on tv about it and sometimes people read stuff over the intercom at school. So, who even cares?

Parents have nothing to do with how a kid sees other people.

My father has always been kind of racist.
I'm in no way, shape, or form like him, in that way.

Racism is innate. It's just a matter of how you deal with it. Do you give everyone a chance and judge them on their character or pigeonhole people into nice and tidy generalizations.
