I don't think solipsism is a scientific theory or even hypothesis; as there's no way to prove or disprove it through the scientific process. The idea, or rather fact, that everything you experience in your life is ultimately your experience is but that isn't solipsism exactly as it doesn't necessarily point towards everything's existence being dependent on your own mind.

There is more than ample scientific evidence in the realm of quantum physics & somatic psychology to prove its validity. I'll rustle some up later.

I've felt glances of it some nights, but it only occurs when a state of hopelessness creeps in. . .

But what exactly do you mean by "it"? Certainly a state of hopelessness is often the impetus for people to explore this theory, but most never get past the idea of intent manifestation being little more than wishful thinking; it is not. As my mom used to always say "If wishes were horses beggars would ride".

Depends, some nights you look in the mirror and think "Am I really looking at me? Or someone else?" Not exactly a dream-like feeling but more of a mental pull, like a dying of awareness of passing sentience.

But I'm rambling, mine is not real but the fabrications of the imaginative mind nothing more.

you guys are confusing me, lol

our perception of an ultimate reality is distorted. Our brains perception is only good enough to comprehend to a limit. Trying to figure out how we got here, and what we really are is beyond our level of comprehension. We can't figure out if we are a dream, it is impossible. It's just another thing to think about and never find the answer to.

If we have a distorted perception of reality, then we can only hope that there is either a god, eternal life, or the life we know is actually something else much greater and more complex because we will never figure out why we are here in this life we know of now. I really highly doubt we are just dreaming of all of this, that is silly. Possible yes, but i think it is kind of dumb.

I don't think it's an important topic at all. As long as everything you experience relate to the reality that you find yourself in, it doesn't matter. So what if your whole life is a dream? If cause and consequence is natural and pain, pleasure, sadness and happiness is as well, then you would still probably rather have it good in your dream-life than suffer it. In other words, speculating that your life might be a dream is perhaps interesting to think about, but I would argue that it has little practical significance ..

Unless you wake up. And you don't know if you ever will or even if you're "sleeping", so why care about it?

Sometimes just for a few seconds I have felt like I was dreaming while awake. A very weird feeling, but none the less a feeling.
