Fan freaking tastic! And I have a pair of Jesus' sandals, and to be honest, they're a bit inflexible, and lack the kind of in - sole support characteristic of modern day sandals... honestly, they're nothing to write home about...

I believe it was.
Now what's all this crap about 2012... I saw the same thing on History channel.... Honestly, since Monster Quest started playing and UFO hunters, I've given up on educational channels. It's sad.

Humanity has a real hang up with doomsday predictions. I don't know what's so unsatisfying about living your life not thinking you're several years away from imminent destruction.

You don't think it's odd that all the planets are going to align perfectly for the first time in 26,000 years (26,000 years ago exactly from 2012, a mass-extinction occured), and that the sun will rise for the first time directly in the center of the milkyway galaxy, where gravity is thought to change, or not exist at all? You don't think it's just a bit odd that there's going to be 3 immense, blackening eclipses in 2012, blocking out electronic signals from sattelites and the likes? You don't think that maybe people would just freak out a little bit, if any of that or the potential problems that may persist as effect to these problems happened? Starvation, drought, no food = last resort = cannibalism. Politics = joke, as predicted. Middle east = in shambles, empires have crumbled. Etcetc. Lost Book, 7 drawings, open to interpretation. Look at the world, look at the book.
EDIT: Sorry, RT... you can move this if you want. |

First off, when has this happened before? When has there been mass extinction? On who? Humans? Why are we still here today then if we were all extinct? Evolution managed to produce mankind twice just in time to wiped out? Or are we talking all species; in which case how is there life on planets? Sources please. Secondly, where did you get your information that the sun, moon, earth and the Milky way would all align in 2012? Is this even possible? The universe isn't a perfect sphere, you can't draw a perfect equator line through it. It's an irregular grouping of stars, gases, and dust. The line we have, the galactic equator, is completely arbitrary, so basing this off that would completely foolish as it's something man-made and has no effect on anything other than the human hubris. Thirdly, where did you found out about these three eclipses? NASA has reported no such information and they have information going for thousands of years and predictions on these sorts of things. I'd be interested to see which source has more intelligence and know how than NASA, who have some of the smartest people in the world at their disposal. Fourthly, how will these solar eclipses cause a loss of technology? They haven't done any such thing before, it's unprecedented. Once again, sources, sources, sources. Fifthly, how would this hypothetical loss in technology lead to cannibalism or an outbreak of chaotic violence and anarchy? Most humans, especially in civilized industrial nations, are lazy and would most likely lock themselves up in their home scared if all the sudden there was a global loss of electricity. Sixthly, you refer to history. How can historical events logically effect or be effected by cosmic events (barring the utterly obvious, like we need the sun for plant life, and those sort of things?) It only takes five minutes of searching, or just reading the thread, to see all this is based of the Mayan calendar and was later supported by Nostradamus, who was no more than a charlatan. Do you honestly believe that the Mayan civilization and Nostradamus, would know better than modern astronomy and NASA? Who have historical evidence of astronomical events and telescopes and everything at their disposal? I'm now going to repeat myself: "the boogie man isn't real, kids." Never in history has the Bible, Torrah, or Qu'ran, or Nostradamus, or superstition, "faith", psychic predictions, Jerry Falwell or the Mayans predicted anything more accurately than what can be attributed to observation or simple chance. Global warming however is something of concern and of course if the polar ice caps completely melt and the world heat's up were all fucked, but this won't happen in the next four years and it has nothing to do with the economic situation were in or 2012. Quote:
