And no, it's not just skepticism, I have some serious hatred for people who want the world to end because they feel too lazy to actually try and make things better. 2012, The Bible, Nostradamus. It's all the same old sh*t in which people give up their ideals of free will to some supernatural force that is always in control of everything. I don't think it's just bullsh*t, I think it's dangerous, if the world ever does come to an end it will be because of these people. And I'm starting to think that this world will only survive if we get rid of them, all the people who can't deal with the changing world and wants everyone to suffer for it, I can honestly sympathize with people who burn churches, I feel like doing it sometimes. I have a reason to be a skeptic, there is no objective truth in the world so everybody pulls sh*t out of their ass, all the time. I'm not saying nothing supernatural exists. But 99% of the time it's just the lazy assh*les way to try and explain the unexplained. And stuff like this is the absolutely worst, it's based around the biggest lie of them all, fate. There is no such thing as "fate" and the sooner everyone realises that, the better. Last edited by boo boo; 10-13-2009 at 01:47 AM. |

I heard somewhere that now even the Mayan elders who are somewhat related to the calendar deny it means the world is ending.... their calendar simply ends that day and no one wrote anymore...seems more logical / rational to me..

You know, Mayan descendents are still around, so it makes you wonder why none of these doomsday sayers ask for, I dunno, their opinion?
Of course these whackjobs don't want other peoples opinions unless they confirm their own, and it would just be embarassing for some shoddy ass scholar who sells millions of books cashing in on this stupid crap to go ask an actual Mayan who will probably tell him. "Uh, it's just a calander." Mayan's believed in cycles that went beyond just weeks, months and years. And just like when Jan 1st comes along, it's not the end of the world, you just need a new calander, that's all. And that's really all this is, a cycle that repeats just like any calander. I can't believe people expected the calander to go on forever, they probably just got tired of doing it and realised it was pointless or they were killed by the spaniards before they could expand on it any further. Either way, it dosen't surprise me that they'd pick the date they did, 12 is considered a significant number to many cultures, which is why I think other cultures predict something significant will happen on this date, and of course they all have their own crazy scenario. If we knew anything was gonna happen on this date, I think we would actually know what it was. |

I'm sure it'll be an interesting day, though. Idiots gathering in fields and on roof-tops to greet the visiting aliens .. maybe some doomsday morons hiding in their bunkers with 5 years of food in cans. Mass hysteria on the internet (ugh). Maybe there'll even be some suicide cults doing their thang.
Well, the 13th will be an interesting day at least.

Yeah, I predict that on this date most of the world's most stupid inhabitants will kill themselves out of paranoia, maybe there will be a "new age" after all.

From year 2012 and later, the 13th of Desember will be celebrated as the "I told you so" day.
