Again my solution is NOT Universal Healthcare, nor is my solution doing away with welfare alltogether. While there are cases where it works, The Unfan, there are also cases where people take advantage of it. There are no checks and balances in the system. The government writes a check and moves on. They pay no attention to how it is used. I think we should write less checks and create more programs to teach the people on welfare how to improve their lives. Create programs to help these people get jobs and provide for themselves. You can't solve every problem by having the government throw money at it and moving on.

I hear ya Ethan, but if he took Luger, he'd be doing what he stands against, he'd be taking the "group think" he found to be dehibilitating in the long run.

I think Clinton has experiences she can draw from, even if it wasn't in peace talks, or trade negotiations.

I have to agree with him on this though, theres is never a bad time to know what the other side is thinking. Occasionally you can find a halfway point.

Like for example, if you thought the majority of Conservatives were against abortion because it was murder, you'd be wrong. Having a conservative in there to note that a large majority of republicans just want state rights.

This is an oversimplified example, and if anyone argues with me on this point I will become the wrath of Thor, but you get my point I'm assuming. That having a deceptive Clinton in there, is more advantagous and less coniving that not having her. She's motivated, and good diplomacy is a great stepping stone for the office.

Though I don't care for Obama, I do like how he goes about things. He really does want to run the country well, as opposed to just pleasing his fellow democrats. I can really respect him for that.

Arrogance Alert:

In my opinion there is no reason to dislike Obama.

he's stated his positions on how best to help the country. he's picking a diverse group (thought-wsie) and legal and historic tradition, he hasn't had the ability to do anything yet.

There isn't a "real" reason to dislike him, and the lack of experience thing is what I'll call a cover.

Its used by anyone who doesn't like him for non-policy reasons. I.e. Republicans, Small Businessman, Hillary Supporters, Anyone with a Ron Paul bumper sticker, people who want to go against the grain, and racists. All of them.

And by the way since this is LoopholeBanter, I'm not saying you're any of those.

If you don't agree with his political views then it's totally understandable one wouldn't like him (as a politician). He's quite liberal, and for those who are more conservative, he would be very hard to like.

You don't like him, or you don't like the things he hasn't done yet?

I personally have no problem with him. He's a bit further away from the middle for my tastes, but I say let's see what he can do. He's certainly a breath of fresh air. With that said I can see why OTHER people wouldn't like him. Now people that are calling him a bad president or whatever already are just plain dumb.

So far he hasn't done a thing. Good or bad. Let's quit trying to judge this guy in any way until he spends a couple months in office. The only thing he's done so far is shake a few hands and give a speech or two.
