Have you looked up the Electoral College yet? The state representatives can vote for whoever they want. Never have they gone a different way than their state, but it could happen. If Texas had upheld their new laws for candidates getting on ballot and Barr had won it might have been the first time.

No, because then they would be zombies. Or other supernatural creations capable of existing in a fully mentally aware state for several hundreds of years. And surviving assassination attempts to do so no less.

Its not possible, but the studios and hype machines had to play up the possibility, just in case.
