You probably won't see that money. Those are based on proposed plans, they have to voted in through congress remember. And with Obama's tax plan there is not enough revenue rated to meet his promises to bolster homeland security and public secondary education.

If you're posting in the music forums make sure to be thoughtful and expressive, if you're posting in the lounge ask yourself "is this something that adds to the conversation?" It's important to remember that a lot of people use each thread. You're probably not as funny or clever as you think, I know I'm not.

Honestly, I think the frivolous spending hurts more than the tax current tax set up. First and foremost I'd cut the funding a lot of programs and that would free up a lot of money. As for actually taxing things, in a strangely socialist way I think higher taxes especially on the upper class couldn't hurt.
Even though you have WendyCal dead to rights and have proved (s)he doesn't even understand her\his own reasoning it does not matter because logic is not part of her\his thinking process. This is the effects of a religious upbringing mixed with moderate to below average intelligence.

@ bold Noooo! i was speaking to the late-term, partial-birth stuff ~ the care-free and easy 'pooh, pooh' pro-choice folks seem to give it, without considering what is actually happening. How he could waffle about THAT, i don't understand. Well, but that's just me.

i DO have a problem with murder ~ but since when is self-defense considered murder? In the case of a child, that would be up to them and/or their families, how to handle it.

Taxes:

So you'd try to fix the system? Yikes, guy...

i hate to keep citing back to one person, but Double X said, (and come to think of it, it's TRUE), rich folks don't work. Rich folks let their MONEY work for them. Increase their 'Income Tax?' They're laughing their asses off. Got plenty of loopholes in the investment rules concerning Income.

And that's part of the problem with trying to fix the current system. There is such a web of [ whatever that slimy stuff that squirts out of cans is ], that you'd be taking on a job that could well last into the next century.

When arguing about politics do not bring up religion. Simple.

One of the worst voting strategies I have ever seen. Examine the candidates on the issues please, do not vote for one simply because he supposedly offers you a slight financial benefit. Sure he'll give you 500, but maybe that 500 won't be worth as much with his economic strategy in place...

That's not necessarily what I believe or what will happen but seriously take a good look at who you're voting for.

Yes, I think it IS just you, since I already explained this in an earlier post, one that you disregarded completely. But, for the sake of argument, I'll explain it again, maybe I used too many big words.

Obama voted no on a bill to make late-term, or partial birth abortions illegal. The REASON he voted no, was that ON THAT PARTICULAR BILL, there was no clause excepting cases in which the mother's life was in danger. He has stated numerous times that he is against partial or late term abortion, unless the mother's health is in jeopardy. Did you understand this time or will I have to repeat myself a second time?
