But prisoners aren't locked in a cage. They get "recess", earned priviledges, a bed, and people to be social with. It isn't like they're forced into a position where there is absolutely nothing to do.

They only speak to guards (and i can only imagine those 'conversations'), clergyfolks, and maybe people at the health clinic once in a while. i'm not real sure who else can visit them, but i can guarantee you it isn't a very long list.
