No I really don't think I will be surprised. I know what the spread of wealth in the US is like. What I don't know is why you insist on asking questions like that without posting anything of use or any contribution to the argument at all. Had you posted anything after that to refute my statements, it would have been acceptable. What exactly was the point that you were trying to make with that question?

Obama's tax plan is exactly what I'm looking. Wealth distribution is something you can swallow only if you're looking at them as flat rates. Their percentages. As a famous comedian once said "if you have 4 millions dollars and your wife takes half; big deal, you're not starving, but if you make $30,000 and your wife wants $15,000 you might have to kill her." The federal government is no different.

i just thought you might want some time to reply, before i posted a link that shoots your perceptions all to hell and gone. Not only that, it takes some time to RE-research what i've read, AND come up with a flippin' source you'll believe. Sheesh.

And the wealth distribution i was speaking about was a chart that showed how many households in America made this much, and that much, and where the MOST of the folks fell. Like, if only 10% of Americans made over $250,000K, or, well, now it's $150,000K, then that STILL leaves everyone else to pick up the slack. Please don't forget, a LOT of those rich folks DON'T even WORK... Last edited by WendyCal; 10-29-2008 at 02:06 PM. |

I don't think I get where you're going with this?
What does it matter if they work or not?

Alright well anyway Obama called taxes patriotism and i agree but a more important point is that unbalanced tax burdens equate in my mind to the destruction of America.
In the "two sides to every coin game" I see someone who doens't work, who sits like an aristocrat in a million dollar home making bank off dividens decidedly unamerican. Similarly, when we're not supporting the middle class, protecting their jobs and giving them a chance and an oppertunity to succed I think thats decidedly unamerican. The propoghanda masters say is "socialism" but giving more to the wealthy is an aristocracy. The fact is we're taxing the middle class to holy hell, their the engine by which any economy runs. When I was growing up the republicans we're the party of good logic. A common phrase you'd hear from them is "well this is a nice idea and we'd love for everyone to have everything, but in practice this just doesn't work." The republicans have given up their logic-based pragmatism and this is exactly one place you can see if ten-fold. They serve Main Street on social issues. As far as the economy goes well...their now big government, their now no-tax and spend. Their imperialists when they used to preach non-intervention. The republicans have sold you out, not one man, but as a party. They need to lose really bad twice (at least) until they realize you can't treat the nation as a fuedal system.

Making them lose isn't a very practical way to get their attention ~ in fact, it could very well backfire, horribly. What if they decide, hey, folks want what the DEMS are offering, which, as you pointed out, is exactly what they're doing right now. When you think about just HOW MANY things would need to change, and change DRASTICALLY, to get our Government back on track, well, it's disheartening... |
