I think that a woman should not have to bear the baby if she did not willingly have sex. I think abortions should only be allowed in the most extreme cases, because it is usually the couple making a stupid a mistake. Instead of promoting abortions we should just promote safe sex.

Oops sorry you posted it right before mine.

I am not against any raising of taxes except income (which should be abolished) and as long as it doesn't incredibly damage people to the point where they can't make a living and the government is using it on saving algae or something.

Nobody promotes abortions...not even the people that make money from them.

Most schools today teach safe sex over abstinence (which is a ridiculous naivety). I think abortion really becomes a personal issue, not something that people are instructed about.

Sorry about that! i jumped the gun, it would appear. But i expect that the two will overlap for a couple of pages.

i'm for getting rid of all BUT sales taxes ~ where the rubber meets the road, as it were. If you have lots of money and buy lots of stuff, you're going to pay lots of taxes. If you don't have that much money, you won't be buying that much. i've thought and thought about how we could have some sort of fair system, whereby the government gets theirs, but we get to keep ours, and this seems the fairest.

i would not be for taxes on any of the basic necessities of life ~ food, clothing, or shelter, and i hadn't gotten this far, but maybe cleaning products ~ No! EVERYTHING you can buy in a grocery store.

That sound good?

There isn't enough revenue from excise taxes to fund a government, let alone one that has to support over forty million lower-class Americans. Our society is built upon normalizing the quality of life for everyone so that poorer people are able to afford the same basic qualities of life as middle-class people. It unfairly targets lower-class consumers and does nothing to provide for the millions in poverty. I mean, it's a wonderful way to think, but the fact of the matter is that there just isn't enough wealth to "spread around." (And yes, THAT is the purpose of our government).

I feel that in the coming years there will be a major economic revolution in America, and we will migrate towards a socialist economy more and more. We will have to make a choice in the future whether we want a strong economy or a strong quality of life.

But you are pro-choice, as long as they can come up with the right lies and only when it benefits your agenda. Convenient is it not?Not to mention, you'd have people believe we pro-choicers are pro-murder.

Paying taxes to help your country is one of the most patriotic things you can do. I have no issues with paying higher taxes as long as where they are going is non-frivolous and public information.

Also because many rich people don't necessarily make a lot of money (they are already rich) but one thing rich people do is buy a lot useless stuff. Raise the consumption tax and abolish the income tax so the person who is making 12$ an hour is actually making that. Sounds like a good idea when I thought of it, but it probably wouldn't work for whatever reason.

Abortion:

Well, that's just it, isn't it? If it's legal for anyone to have, then it's legal for everyone to have, because girls could lie about the circumstances. The thing is, if it's to be considered a medical necessity, the doctors would be in charge of determining the situation, and making a decision, keeping the ENTIRE thing confidential. It would also serve to, as Double X noted above, "Instead of promoting abortions we should just promote safe sex."

i'm sorry about the murder stuff, but if the shoe fits...

Taxes:

Where our tax monies goes is already a matter of public record, but yet and still, the frivolous spending doesn't stop.

And i know we need to pay taxes, and am willing to pay taxes, but i'm paying taxes ON taxes, and we need a better, SIMPLER way to collect them, that taxes people fairly. Right now, if the major corps taxes went up, say 5.75%, what do you think they would do? Raise their prices, right? Cost of Doing Business just went up. And while we're at it, we need to make a little more, also, so we'll just raise our prices, what? 7.5% sound good to everyone?

Not everyone is the same when it comes to earning, and when you have hidden taxes concealed in everything, you aren't doing the little guy any favors, regardless of what tiny percentage you want to 'refund' him.

How would you do it?

But it's a start toward a solution!

Here is the difference. I don't view it as murder. You do view it as murder. You have no problem with abortion under certain circumstances. This means you have no problem with murder sometimes. Therefor when you call Obama on the same thing you're being a hypocrite.

Honestly, I think the frivolous spending hurts more than the tax current tax set up. First and foremost I'd cut the funding a lot of programs and that would free up a lot of money. As for actually taxing things, in a strangely socialist way I think higher taxes especially on the upper class couldn't hurt.
