I guess I really fail at understanding economics as a whole. I always thought that democrats were historically known for having shit money management for overtaxing, and the Republicans were known for an unnecessarily large military and not caring about social reforms. I know it's not black and white like that, but now Clinton seemed to manage economy okay (surplus?) and Bush seemed to play into big business and wasted endless money in Iraq where it screwed the rest of us...
Does that sound right? |

Republicans are typically for smaller government and more personal accountability but are moving away from those principals rapidly. Democrats, traditionally speaking, tax more and are more likely to use if for the "majority's" collective interests, such as health care, school funding, environmental protection\preservation etc. There is little difference in the proposed tax policies of Obama and McCain aside from Obama proposing to put a heavier burden on the upper class incomes.

In watching the debate, I felt more compelled each time he spoke to punch McCain in the face. I think it was ridiculous for him to say he "knows how to get Osama... I'll get him, I'll get him." It's like saying, "You all relax your pretty heads about that. I'll git 'im, I'll git 'im." Like he's a ****ing lost puppy or something.

God forbid a man with extensive Wartime experience suggest he might know how to capture or kill our nations worst enemy.
Debates are meaningless, they don't debate they recite rehearsed talking points. All I've learned from the debates is Obama is not clever, witty or funny at all. And Biden is somehow even less these things.

I'd take that one step further and say the talking points are ridiculous as well. Both parties ideologies are already pretty well known and each candidates individual beliefs have already been advertised so much there's hardly anything about them you don't know. The whole thing is pretty much just a partisan circle jerk. Look at what democrats/republicans say after each debate "My candidate won!" tis ridiculous. |

Wartime experience changes you unimaginably.
It's the only difference between McCain and Obama relevant to this election.

He has to say that. Like we both said, it's all talking points. McCain has an obvious edge with his military experience and that makes some voters confident, he needs to play on that confidence.
It's not a big deal. 1. He will be trying his damnedest to catch Osama. 2. He can't say "I might catch Osama" What do you think of McCain's strategy to work the "Weather Underground" connection against Obama?
