I don't think so much time needs to be spent evaluating the meanings of words and questions.
I think both are really just ways of communicating which questioning assumed or excepted meanings only complicates. Regardless of if intelligence is good, or what it is or how it's defined universally, it as a word has several accepted meanings to English speakers which make the questions people ask far more sensible then any deconstruction of them.

just to clarify, i wasn't saying that there is no universally accepted definition of intelligence, i was saying that nothing is inherently good or bad. your post made it sound like you misinterpreted what we were talking about, at least when i read it, and i do agree that the arguments of intelligence in/behind the univerise are valid and important.

Intelligence is bad if it is within a mechanized framework of the world, because it leads to an attitude of power over nature, which is absurd.
