That's just as illogical a prejudice as racism, then. You're just cleverly disguising racism by putting blanket generlizations over it. When it comes down to it, racism is racism, no matter what you hate them for.

Imagine if I were to suggest that I hated Jews because they crippled Harlem's economy in the forties. Regardless of whether it was based in fact or a reason other than "they're different," I'd be just as anti-Semitic to suggest that.

Some people are incognizant that racism spawned slavery, genocide, and segregation. There is nothing to suggest that racism wasn't the primary motivator for such atrocities.

I wouldn't ever dislike a race of people based on genetics. However I could see the logic behind it, yes, and specially when those genetic conditions could affect behavior.

It is racism. My point was that one could logically conclude a racial bias based on something outside of looks.

I see what you're saying, but one would have to conclude that all of a certain race have a genetic defect (like sickle cell anemia) that makes their personality undesireable, which isnt true, seeing as that doesnt exist. Hypothetically, yes, in that case it would be a logical reason, but since that isnt true, the argument is false.

So now that that is cleared up, would it not be logical for someone who doesn't know better to presume all blacks have sickle cell anemia or are at least at a very high risk if they meet [arbitrary number] of blacks and they all have it? Hence, while it takes a true dumbass to do it it is still logical to be racist sometimes.

something that occurred to me about that scenario

even if its a genetic characteristic
like the sickle cell anemia in the example

if youre going to apply it across the board to a people

youre still using appearance for your snap judgement since each population has different racial charactistics that make us look different than each other but the same as other people of our group

The inmates have to volunteer for the job. The state is saving the tax-payers money by having the inmates work for pennies on the dollar. Slavery is FORCED. This is VOLUNTEERING.

I don't understand your acronyms.

Also I didn't read beyond the headline lol. Involuntary prison labor is still legal though and that's ****ed up.
