I’m surprised by how laissez faire the regulations are in California.
I just watched a legal analyst on CNN and he stated that he was surprised that the place was never inspected but the school district is saying that doesn’t fall under their purview. Calling your house a school so you don’t have to send your kids to school is a weird loophole. I made some incorrect assumptions based on how (I think) it works where I live. I still think that despite their disclaimers that they don’t oversee private schools the state and/or local government might be held accountable. It’s a weird terrain where anti-vaxxers and Christian fundies meet. |
I can't handle these sort of stories because you just know there are countless other children in similar albeit less extreme situations (in ordinary houses in the suburbs) at any given moment.
According to this site: Spoiler for .:
So oblivious. I wish sociopaths and people who view children as pets/objects would stop procreating. Another one: https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-si...-homeschooling Spoiler for .:
And another from just last year. |

In case it wasn't clear, I was just bemoaning all the cases of child abuse (in extremely insular weird religious environments, particularly here in the the US) happening under everyone's' noses-- home-schooled or not-- and linking things as I found them. Which would have been more evident if I had not deleted half of my post before submitting. (I'm all for homeschooling, personally.) |

As ****ty as public schools often are, I'm all for homeschooling being illegal in Germany as it is. Heil Schule!
