Why? Because they didn't care about cake. They cared about AGENDA. They aren't pragmatists or realists. In fact, the gay couple seems to be the fascist ones, imposing their beliefs upon others.

If someone is uncomfortable with some act of free will that they would not choose to do on their own volition, why make the government FORCE them to do it? That's pretty fucked up if you think about it.
The bakers are whiny bitches.

Basically, anything that didn't promote a gay agenda, as it went against their personal beliefs. They bakers drew the line at making a rainbow cake with 2 men on top. In the past, they have refused to decorate cakes with Halloween themes or scantily clad females, citing their personal beliefs in those situations as well.

So, the analogy that the gays would starve to death by being refused service goes out the window. They could have virtually any cake they wanted, just not something associated with homosexuality or gay marriage.
Lmao, you don't have to support gay marriage - if you offer CUSTOM WEDDING CAKES to straight couples, you'll make them for gay couples too. How hard of a concept is that for you to understand, and why don't you seem to understand that civil liberties depend on equal treatment for everyone. If he only offers plain cakes for every person, fine. That's acceptable, but they don't. They offer custom wedding cakes, and you don't get to pick and choose who you serve because it's not 1927 anymore.

Should gay Jewish bakers have to decorate Nazi cakes with Swastikas?

If black folks would've settled for drinking at a different water fountain, sitting in the back of the bus, and accepting that they simply weren't being denied their right to be served so that was okay, then the Jim Crow Laws would still be in effect. You're advocating for anti-gay equivalents to those laws, and it seems like you're actually advocating for reinstatement of the Jim Crow Laws themselves if you don't believe they're entitled to the same service as everyone else.

Nope, because it isn't reasonable to expect that and I think you're intelligent enough to understand that concept.

I also understand that uber-religious people deeply object to gay marriage and may believe their eternal salvation is on the line.

Yeah, well they aren't entitled to that in business that's open to the public.

The discussion is about what they should be entitled to not what they are. Maybe I don’t think they should have to compromise their faith to make a living.

Actually, I just don’t think it’s as simple as a lot people are making it out to be. Either way there’s a loss.
