I think the worst thing about this and in retrospect, both of the Bush administrations, is that there's very little that's been done to safeguard against these kinds of people from becoming president, and it's been 30 years that we've had to change something. Hopefully we really do learn something from this awful experience, but for some reason part of me thinks we'll **** this up and we won't do anything to stop the gerrymandering or the big donations in politics that make all of it possible.

So, I got more info on the gay wedding cake story. Apparently the bakers offered to bake the gay couple a REGULAR cake, or even cupcakes or other pastries. Basically, anything that didn't promote a gay agenda, as it went against their personal beliefs. They bakers drew the line at making a rainbow cake with 2 men on top. In the past, they have refused to decorate cakes with Halloween themes or scantily clad females, citing their personal beliefs in those situations as well.
So, the analogy that the gays would starve to death by being refused service goes out the window. They could have virtually any cake they wanted, just not something associated with homosexuality or gay marriage. |

That may be true but gay men can get really hangry.

So, why didn't they just say FUCK IT, order a regular wedding cake, and put a statue of 2 grooms on after they got it home?
Why? Because they didn't care about cake. They cared about AGENDA. They aren't pragmatists or realists. In fact, the gay couple seems to be the fascist ones, imposing their beliefs upon others. If someone is uncomfortable with some act of free will that they would not choose to do on their own volition, why make the government FORCE them to do it? That's pretty fucked up if you think about it. |
