One of the actors on Game of Thrones (a show I don't think anyone can really follow) is getting **** for joking about enjoying playing a fictional character who in the story rapes another fictional character. Do people not understand that it's FICTION? He didn't rape anybody. He didn't even joke about raping somebody. He made a joke about playing a rapist on TV. TV shows and movies have villains. Actors enjoy playing villains. It's not ****ing real. Seriously, WTF is wrong with people?

Trollheart 10-14-2017 01:26 PM

These are the same sort of people who boo and hiss and hit with their umbrellas a guy who plays a murderer in a soap. Some people really seem not to be able to separate the two. Pathetic.

Game of Thrones (show and books) are kind of sketchy with their sexual content, but they still deal with it well enough that I don't think they can be legit condemned. Are you talking about the Mountain? Cause no matter how execrable he may be, I can't help but love him for the scene where he *spoiler* put out that dudes eyes and crushed his skull *end spoiler*. That was simply badass to the extreme and made me want him to die the way a villain should.

Trollheart 10-14-2017 01:35 PM

That was one of the top ten alltime best shocker scenes on TV. ****ing superb. I ran it back about four times. That, and the bit with the spear and the guy's head.

In the midst of the chaos that has enveloped the White House, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin is charging ahead with plans to deregulate Wall Street. The Treasury Department recently released a 220-page report calling for the elimination of reforms designed to prevent another financial collapse. The recommendations include:

1) Easing oversight of financial markets by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

2) Limiting the ability of regulators to impose new rules.

3) Reducing the information companies must provide before they go public.

4) Repealing disclosure requirements for mining and other natural resources companies.

Adding insult to injury, the report also calls for the elimination of a rule that requires companies to release how much executives make compared to their employees. Naturally, lobbyists and trade associations for the financial industry immediately hailed the recommendations.

Do Trump and his team of banksters think we've forgotten about the last time Wall Street greed destroyed the economy? We need strong rules and regulators who will enforce them to protect public. If left to their own devices, the big banks and hedge funds will gamble away the economy again.
I know Bat, TLDR. If this goes through it won't affect you much anyway so:

But for some of us this **** is real. During the collapse of 2007 my 401K and home values were gutted so that banks and Wall Street dudes could get massive bonuses.

Screw Se7en, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Irreversable. This is still the most chilling movie scene I've ever watched. (mini-hyperbole alert)

Dude, I'm totally not up on my recession knowledge by any means, but I do know that all that **** that the repubs bitch about the Clintons doing that supposedly did to cause the recession (i.e. giving loans to the dirty ******s) was about fixing decades of racist housing policies to keep African Americans from buying property. So, like, I totally see this as a backdoor way for all that racist **** to benefit the kind of people who did this **** in the first place.
