People in general can be perfectly intelligent as it pertains to living their life, working their job, raising their family, and in general all those things that people have been doing for thousands of years to exist in their own little worlds. I imagine if we did then we would have predicted and prevented the Great Recession, or at least not have been completely blindsided by it. We are dealing with an endless morass of issues that have become so complex and intertwined that there is no conceivable way that the human brain can deal with them without technological assistance.

The problem there is human greed. If anyone had been able to predict, with 100% accuracy, any of the Crashes, then or now, our reaction would have been "**** it! I'm not stopping making money. Maybe it won't happen"....

Humanity isn't so much doomed as they just have no business currently making worldwide decisions. Like I said, human+ might be the answer. And you can disagree all you want to satisfy your Marx boner, but I'd like to think that you will eventually outgrow your mindless idealism the same way that Goofle will hopefully outgrow his. Not that you're as cringey, but your schtick is still goofy and too idealistic to survive in the real world.
