And yet you think these same people are capable of ruling themselves in some communist utopia? **** 'em. **** me too tbh.

here's a good story about not voting

earlier this year we had a provincial election. during the final 2 years of the last Premier's run, he decided that rather than investing in our failing education system, he would put money into the Bluenose II. a dated replica of a ****ing fishing boat.

anyway, eventually it was time for the teachers union and the government to renegotiate their contracts, and surprise surprise, no agreement could be reached as we couldn't afford any sort of financial commitment because education is less important than MLAs pensions Nova Scotia MLAs to get pension eligibility after 2 years - Nova Scotia - CBC News. this led to a battle that lated for months, work to rule, strikes, all that and more. great for the students, right?

so long story short, everyone hated the guy, complained about him 24/7. the election rolls around and... record low voting. guess what? he gets back in with a majority government once again!

great stuff.

Maybe after 40 years of failed attempts to fix public education people either don't care or prefer the broken fishing boat. Compulsory education is a disaster, world wide. Missing school is pretty much a guarantee to be time better spent than in school. I've been on boats and in classrooms. Boats are better.

If they didn't then good. If you're an anarchist.

Hate to say it but you really took that lesson to heart.

we have a very keep your head down and work hard type of culture you know

Our propensity for keeping our heads down in a hierarchical system is my main gripe with trusting humans with governing themselves. We evolved to give governance to an alpha male and have basically lived so for thousands (millions) of years until the last couple hundred years, after which we still did the same with the illusion of not doing so. We're still apes who want to be led by a strong beast who brooks no dissent. I imagine we'll evolve beyond this in time, but atm we're still those same apes, and I do not have the patience to deal with this ****.

Yeah, people are dumb, overrated monkeys. Bring on the trans-/post-humanism or some kind of AI/alien overlord.

I mentioned earlier that claims about human nature seperate from their respective culture are really difficult to prove

And those were mostly isolated cases. The exception does not disprove the rule.

Studying cultures that are isolated from the influence of other cultures is the best way to determine if a trait is nurture or nature.
