Maybe it would be better to make it so that you don't need a high ranking position to afford rent.

take that up with the landlords charging 3x what their place is actually worth

almost anywhere in my province you could work a min wage job and very easily afford rent and food. my province also has the 3rd highest unemployment rate and is the 2nd poorest in the whole country. surprise?

obv i know this isn’t the case anywhere, but cost is definitely region based. i bet you pay out the ****ing ass for rent in big cities in California. does that suck? hell yeah it does. is paying everybody 5 dollars more an hour gonna fix it? no chance.

any min wage job i’ve worked (mcdonalds, wal-mart, theme park) there were plenty of opportunities for growth depending on your seniority and work ethic. and wal-mart for ex i got 3 promotions in less than a year because i didn’t just go there to **** around and i actually did what was asked of me.

Pretty much all the people at my job have two jobs just to make ends meet, so minimum wage clearly does not easily allow you to afford rent and food, or even to afford it at all unless you're living in a hovel eating ramen noodles. You know, unless you raise it.
