I'm sorry Chula but that's just stupid. Myriad factors, but let's not pretend like it was 100% removed from Islam.

We use terrorism as shorthand in this country, like we shortcut the word racist or fascist to apply when it's technically incorrect. I try to not get to tied up in knots about it, but I'm sympathetic to both arguments.
For the record: Terrorism - 1. "premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents" 2. "the use of violence or threat of violence especially against civilians in the pursuit of political aims, religious, or ideological change" So you need to be a) not a national majority (Basque separatists, Klansmen, Tamil Tigers) b) acting in support of political goals (IRA - independence from England, ISIS - establishment of an Islamic Caliphate) and c) target non-combatants (lynchings, purposeful vehicular collisions, nightclub shootings, etc.). As of 3 PM EST, October 2, 2017, we're only sure about C. American media is incredibly hypocritical in that they generally don't reserve this kind of circumspection when the shooter is brown or has squiggles on his twitter feed. But they are, technically, correct in not calling this terrorism. For now. Also, fuuuuuccckkk that CBS lawyer. Not a single person deserves to die for their beliefs, whether religious, political, or other. Not. A. Single. One. She's no liberal. Glad she was fired.

CBS Fires Legal Exec Over Las Vegas Shooting Comments – Variety
That was quick. Should have taken a PR course for an elective in law school.

Take it up with his co-workers, his dad, the authorites, the people that worked at Pulse, and the guys that came forward as possible lovers. Not me.
It's been 16 months since the shooting. Ya'd think more info to back the ISIS claim would have come out by now. Quote:
So during my three hour standoff with the cops I'll hop on Facebook and find all of the most recent radical Islam stories and get a few talking points to feed 9-1-1 so that the narrative goes that way, instead of my sexual orientation. In a weird way it reminds me of the convicted child molester and killer sitting on death row with no remorse at all. Then on his last day, he asks for a priest out of desperation to absolve all of his sins in an effort to get into heaven.

This conversation is dumber than a bag of hammers. Life is not black and white Chula. ISIS wasn't his key motivation, but it did play a role in it.
