America goes ape.

I guess those zookeepers were supposed to have just sat back and watch that gorilla "protect" that toddler. Because 400 lb gorillas are gentle as lambs don't you know. I saw it on Dora the Explorer.

Are there people who are actually mad at the zookeepers? From what I've seen most of the outrage is directed at the mother of the child.

Seen a lot of people online angry at the zoo mandem. A quick Twitter search will prove it.

Ridiculous. People need to tone it down with that stuff. I do understand that the gorilla didn't do anything to deserve death, but the kid's life was potentially on the line and their wasn't much else the zookeepers could have done. If you feel that strongly about the gorilla dying, shouldn't your problem lie within locking up animals in the first place?

The Cincinnati zoo saved a child's life. What more do you want from them? You could say that they need to make their enclosures less accessible to four-year-old children, but you certainly can't fault them for acting quickly to save the little nimrod.
