The bill – named the Inflation Reduction Act – would represent the largest climate investment in US history and make major changes to health policy by giving Medicare the power for the first time to negotiate the prices of certain prescription drugs and extending expiring health care subsidies for three years. The legislation would reduce the deficit, be paid for through new taxes – including a 15% minimum tax on large corporations and a 1% tax on stock buybacks – and boost the Internal Revenue Service’s ability to collect.

I doubt if it has anything to do with Mark Cuban. The pharmacy companies have been gouging the public for decades here and some Dems at least have been trying to address it for years. As for Cuban, if he is selling drugs at cost, great.

It was just a guess. I know Cuban isn't that well liked by many. I figured he had some enemies on Capitol Hill. I knew about the gouging (Bernie's trip to Canada to buy insulin was well publicized). Fingers crossed that this offers relief to people needing medicine. |

Sigh. With the Republican party cozying up to Victor Orban, a fascist who seized power through soft power bureaucratic machinations I should think the Dems would see the republicans as an actual threat and not just as opposition, but even with this I don't have any faith they're taking that threat seriously. Even if they arrest Trump they'll probably just pin everything on him and try to pretend everything's fine. Give me some god damn mass arrests already.
