HaHa! That story is like something written for a comedy film. I can imagine one of the Marx Brothers playing the principle part.

Anyone following the story of the La Palma eruption? Anyone else annoyed that news photographers can't resist showing the lava at night, all fiery orange and black, giving us no idea of detail or scale ?

On the topic of scale, the bottom line of the eruption news is: potentially very serious, but not as serious as people though 20 years ago, when it was first suggested that half of La Palma island could slide into the sea, pushing a mega-tsunami clean across the Atlantic:-
