That **** was ****ed up. Those coal towns had stores that only took coupons distributed by the corporation. If you didn’t work you couldn’t eat. The miners had to resort to violence to finally get that **** changed.

As terrifying as a return to company towns is if it's just tech startup dudebros high on grind culture I think it'll be fun to see it finally descend into a madness of cocain-fuelled riots and insurgencies.

The Republicans will support it because rich people are always right. And they’re not stupid. They’ll hire some blacks (they’re great at basketball) and put up rainbows and BLM propaganda. That way they can buy off the liberals at no cost whatsoever. That’s what they did in San Francisco. Rinse and repeat.

Obviously but the immediate context is that of Silicon Valley tech companies and if Nevada has a bunch of tech startup company towns the dystopian employee cultures that already exist in those corporations devolving to their logical horrifying conclusions would be novel and potentially hilarious.
