I'm rather cynical, so probably about as pure as a moderately diluted whiskey.

Same deal for me asking you that question, so fair game.

Idk

Before we call it square maybe SGR should get to watch a family member get murdered on video to make sure he has a pure perspective.

SGR - you need help. That’s not cynicism. That’s just cruelty on your part. Cynicism is how you would feel if it was your loved one murdered by the state.

Really I’d be banned if I said what you deserve to hear.

Is it really necessary to bring my family into this in some sort of twisted appeal to emotion?

If you believe that the family of victims of police violence/brutality/negligence always have unassailable intentions, that's fine. I don't.

I don't think bringing up the possibility of doubt when it comes to their intentions is "cruelty" - insensitive? Probably. But cruelty is a little hyperbolic.

I will grant you that casting doubt on their intentions is premature. We don't yet know when they received the bodycam footage. If they received the bodycam footage recently, I'll retract all casting of doubt.

I give you the benefit of the doubt, but casting such a doubt as the purity of the intentions of the source of the video drives the conversation away from the fact that somebody died.

I appreciate that. As I said, my casting of doubt was entirely premature, and as you noted, tangential.

The implication of my doubt-casting was that they were doing this to make money - in all likelihood, this money is going to be used to pay the legal fees to take the state/officers to court.

Yes. There’s a straightforward video of a man being murdered and you **** talk his family. So yes. Take some time to visualize your family member getting murdered on film and try to get to the core of how that would make you feel. Because that’s what happened to these people. So yes, since you can’t get that, dig ****ing deeper.

I wonder if SGR would give Tucker Carlson the benefit of the doubt if he'd said it.
