Scarcity is not an illusion. It isn't just about food and waste in our supply chains. It's about all the little gears and details that keep a society at scale functioning. We need robot labor instead of cheap human labor, way higher energy efficiency and a whole host of other things. We also need technology that lets us desalinate water in a scalable fashion that doesn't need massive labor forces to oversee. We need the capabilities to grow fresh fruits, vegetables, etc. in easily set up, conditioned environments that could be set up in inhospitable territories where soil quality doesn't matter, and and you shouldn't need to be a trained specialist to set any of it up if you had to.

If you meet some of what I'm talking about above, then you can dismantle capitalism in an empathetic manner that only kills / undermines the rich.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Scarcity in skills, resources, water, etc. etc. Like I said, the concept of scarcity applies to more than a Pizza Hut dumpster or a meat packing facility.

Elph has a scarcity of my penis in his mouth. I think it's about time I feed the hungry.

How many ****ing people would it take for them to realize it’s way too many goddamn people?

Yeah but you'll never see a society where inequality can be eliminated without some of what I've listed. The status quo needs to change in some way where human labor itself is an issue that's not even on the table. Only in a world where robots are efficient and can do the most repetitive things can people just pursue the things they want to do.

Even in a society that was more communal in some way, I don't see people throwing away their desire for convenience. Like, ever. Nobody wants to be stuck farming all day or "doing their part" for the community or hunting. They'll want to research, do music, be artistic, or just explore freely without worrying about food supply, water supply, transportation, etc. Therefore, we need robots.

Program robots who can repair robots and also program robots who can repair the robots that repair the robots. Then you only need a minimal amount of people who love robots per commune who can perform maintenance.

Maybe. And in a society where everything is ran by robots we could only be communist or socialist. Capitalism would die because look what happened to Detroit.

Edit: And that's a reason why I liked Yang and I know it's a reason you like him too. He actually thought about how automation is going to take over the work force.
