Everywhere is golden if you’re rich. You can be as bum**** as you want in the trendiest neighborhood on earth as long as you have money you’ll be made to feel right at home. Money talks.

Well then I no longer believe that you've ever left the five mile radius you were born in.

That’s a statement of exaggerated absolute re: culture but there’s a lot of truth that the entire world boils down to who has money and who doesn’t. We probably agree but we can debate it if you want. I’m not doing anything. |
Yeah sure people have way more in common than they realize and a lot of what keeps them apart is assumptions that people from other cultures are somehow toxic and feelings of unease when they encounter cultural differences and are unsure how to interpret them and so they fallback on what is known and comfortable to explain how those cultural differences are wrong. It can take surprisingly little to bridge those gaps, but it's so ****ing easy to stay within your own bubble that it can be a depressingly insurmountable obstacle to just get people or even yourself to even try.

One thing I learned in Korea was that I love Russians. I even loved how racist they were. One time I was drinking in a bar with a group of Russians in Korea and I ordered in Korean and this Russian guy was like why would you lower yourself to speak their disgusting language. I really got a kick out of that because I had never heard anything but praise for learning a foreign language. Those Russians could muck their way through English though. Mostly they said America and Russia are same. America. Russia. Friend. Drink. Drink. Drink. Hey Korean bitch fill glass now. Goddamn were they fun. I saw a few Russians beat the **** out of Koreans but never the reverse.

Sounds like Russians are fun pricks.
