I'm waiting for there to be some kind of catch as to why Vietnam is evil or something.
I mean they're a small enough country that it's possible they manage to... install(?) leaders who aren't ****bags.
From what I read it seems fairly fascist there. Like, neighbors are snitches. They have a culture of snitching.
Where have you read this stuff?

The snitching thing was from articles talking about why Vietnam doesn't have any covid deaths. The others were from Wikipedia because I was curious as to why a socialist country isn't brought up a lot by socialists to argue in favor of it or from people that would use it as an example of the evils of socialism/communism. Edit: I also read that they made anybody spreading misinformation about the virus pay a fine. |

I agree... I think that's exactly why every major communist country has been poor and politically chaotic prior to the revolution... People in well functioning 1st world democracies are far too complacent to gamble on that sort of thing.
This has also been shown to be true just with communist or socialist parties in Western countries... The more liberal the ruling regime is, the less radical their major socialist parties are. This makes them more likely to compromise with the regime and thus less likely for the revolution to ever happen. |
It's almost as if it is human nature to embrace conveniences (like their favorite drink at Starbucks, running water, functioning city services, etc.) as opposed to embracing higher risk and participating in political activities that will most certainly destroy those conveniences.
Ahh, so you and bat agree that humans are complacent selfish monkey people or something. You know the **** Bat says.
