Mitch McConnell said he supports allowing states to declare bankruptcy.

I looked at several articles and didn’t get a clear answer to my first question which is: Would that mean they wouldn’t have to be pay pensions for state workers? Several articles mention pensions but none said directly bankruptcy could be used to not have to pay pensions.

I know that corporations have filed bankruptcy and never paid promised pensions even after they became solvent again. Some auto-workers who worked for 30 plus years never got their pensions. I’m sure that caused plenty of suicides.
