Do you have a hard time believing they might eat bats in China?

I once read a firsthand account of a starving girl and her family eating a rotting chicken fished out from a sewer in China.

Ngl I'd try it. Gotta be like a basset hound with a lotta good tender meat though.

But the bats could've infected some other animal they eat instead as well. From what I'm reading the reasons for suspecting the virus is from bats originally are purely scientific.
