Some people are looking for this to be the Watergate of our lifetime but Watergate happened when people still really had faith in government and were actually watching "the news". Most people are used to government being trash at this point and don't really know how to make sense of modern news and all its viewpoints so public opinion is more wait and see at this point. It has the effect of allowing partisan wrestling to really wag the dog even more than it ever did so the people are really just waiting to see if Trump gets impeached before deciding how they feel about Trump getting impeached.

If he isn't impeached it allows executive power to expand quicker probably. If he is impeached it slows executive power expansion hopefully but in no way stops it. How it affects the partisan divide will be unknown until it happens. But it'll be a hell of a ride if he is impeached, and since literally no President has actually been removed from office it'll be cool as **** just for ****s and giggles and history book **** if he is removed. If he is impeached but not removed then I'll need to go to New York, climb to the top of the Statue of Liberty, and have a good wank on her head to get rid of the red, white, and blue balls.
