Fundamentally what Israel doesn't want is any new military forces to be reckoned with in the region.

They're already surrounded by militaries of states that hate them.

Hence why the entire Zionist project is not well thought out.

Oddly enough, I've just been watching that same guy playing an Israeli in a serious Netflix true-story drama called The Spy. Recommended if you have access to Netflix.
